Paul E. Wiese

U.S. Veteran

Paul E. Wiese, 81, of Anderson, Indiana and Simi Valley, California passed away May 3, 2012 at home with his daughter by his side. He was born March 23, 1931 in Anderson and was a resident of Anderson until he moved to Southern California four years ago. He was a 1950 graduate of Anderson High School and a1954 graduate of Purdue University where he received his degree in electrical and mechanical engineering. After college and a brief time in the military, he was employed by General Motors Guide Lamp and worked there for 40 years until his retirement in 1994. After marrying the love of his life, Phyllis K. Friddle in 1954, they settled in Anderson and welcomed a daughter, Karen Roxanne in 1961. Sports cars, Indy Car and Formula One racing were lifelong passions of his. He and Phyllis were members of the Sports Car Club of America in their early years together and traveled around Indiana on road rallies in their Austin-Healey. After retirement, Paul achieved his dream of acquiring a Porsche and took delivery of the car at the Porsche Factory in Germany. Paul and Phyllis then toured Europe and drove the new car on the Autobahn much to Paul’s enjoyment. Phyllis and Paul were members of the Porsche Club and enjoyed many road trips in their later years. He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Karen Roxanne (Wiese) and Bradley Scott Gray of Simi Valley, California; three cousins, Donald Simons of Calumet, Michigan, Marc Wiese of Shady Shores, Texas and Dana Wiese of Maine; in-laws, Robert and Rieta Gray of Anderson and close friends Linda Jarrett of Boca Raton, Florida, Janette and John Sears of Bethel, Ohio and Don McMahan of Anderson. He was presided in death by his parents, Anna Louise (Howell) and Henry Carl Wiese and his wife, Phyllis Katherine (Friddle) Wiese all of Anderson.

A graveside service will be conducted at 10:00 A.M. Wednesday May 9, 2012 at East Maplewood Cemetery.

Friends may call from 4:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. Tuesday at Brown-Butz-Diedring Funeral Home.
